How are remote supports provided?

Web-based remote support offers customers and clients real-time interactive in-home support services. Each solution is specifically designed to support the unique individual. Our goal is to improve the quality of their lives, address safety concerns, become happier, and continue their unique journey to maintaining or gaining independence.

Our solutions may include the use of electronic sensors, speakers and microphones, smoke detectors, temperature detectors, personal emergency response systems, and much more. These devices link each individual’s home to remote caregivers who provide remote supported-living services.

Supporting Agencies and
Residential Providers

Living Without Limits works with agencies serving individuals with disabilities to support these individuals to live more independently. Working with the provider, we perform an evaluation of the home environment to determine the optimal technology requirements. We can build and install the system.  We then provide remote support for long-term success.

Working with Family
Members and Guardians

Living Without Limits works with family members and guardians charged with caring for individuals with disabilities to support these individuals to live more independently. We work closely with family members, guardians, and the individual themselves. Technology choices promote safety and security while creating opportunities to gain or maintain independence and live happily, and with dignity for the long term.

Common Use Examples

Assistive technologies with remote supports can be used in a number of different ways, including:

  • Replacing an on-site overnight caregiver to support those “just in case” situations
  • Knowing the person is safely inside of his or her home
  • Knowing only approved visitors are in the home; helping to prevent exploitation
  • Giving reminders for medication administration and making sure meds are taken as prescribed
  • Assisting the person in making safe choices
  • Coaching through activities of daily living like preparing meals or completing personal hygiene
